Phoenix Entertainment Partners, LLC v. Sports Entertainers Inc., No. 15 C 7176, Slip Op. (N.D. Ill. Sep. 8, 2015) (Shadur, Sen. J.).

Judge Shadur fined plaintiff $100 for failing to provide the Court a courtesy copy of its complaint as required by Local Rule 5.2(f) and the Court’s standing orders. Local Rule 5.2(f) requires that parties provide the Court courtesy copies of filings within 24 hours of filing. The Court waited more than a week without receiving the courtesy copy and, therefore, issued the order sua sponte fining plaintiff, unless plaintiff could show that it had provided the courtesy copy.
